About Woodbe

About Us

We are two construction engineers from Värmland, Sweden who founded Woodbe Engineering AB in 2020, although our journey began in 2016 when we started our engineering studies at Karlstad University. During our studies, a friendship developed and, with it, a shared dream to contribute to the construction industry’s progress toward a more sustainable society.

We have combined traditional methods with today’s technology and a modern material. Our goal is to simplify CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) constructions and promote environmentally friendly building. Our mission is to provide stable and sustainable CLT frames that are easy to work with.

Building with wood has become a more common choice due to the importance of sustainable construction in recent years. At Woodbe, we want to help develop sustainable construction by contributing smarter and better solutions to make sustainable building more accessible. For this reason, we have developed a solution for timber constructions in CLT, using new fastening methods based on traditional finger-jointing techniques but adapted to modern materials like CLT and enhanced with today’s technology. We call these joints BiteLock joints, which have a unique geometry to create a self-locking system throughout the frame.

The benefits of this method include improving the work environment for construction workers by eliminating the need for thousands of screws as well as reducing construction time. Much of the work is done by assembling the CLT elements into a self-locking system. This solution also allows for easy disassembly and reuse if the building needs to be relocated or expanded with additional elements. Individual elements can also be reused to create new structures, further enhancing sustainability.
